The story
Our 1967 VW began life as a panel van, spent time as a family vehicle, and might have disappeared into obscurity — until it found its way to Coco at Cocos Kustoms in Kirknewton. Coco is one of the world’s most knowledgeable and respected VW specialists, and what he created is remarkable.
Every detail of the conversion was considered with care. The original 1967 specifications have been preserved as faithfully as possible — this is a genuine piece of automotive history, not a themed prop. Cocos Kustoms continue to care for the bus and prepare it for every event. Without Coco, none of this would exist — and we mean that.
There is no other vehicle exactly like this one anywhere in the world.
What it is
It turns heads before a note has been played. And once the music starts, it sets a tone that no conventional setup can match.
The Funkwagen is as versatile as it is distinctive. It has graced private estates, festival fields, corporate venues, and production sets — and it brings the same quiet authority to all of them.
If you have something in mind that isn’t on this list, get in touch. We rarely say no to an interesting brief.
For longer-term brand activations and corporate partnerships, we can arrange bespoke sign writing to reflect your brand or product. A sign-written Funkwagen doesn’t just play music — it becomes a marketing asset in its own right.
There are few more eye-catching ways to put a brand in front of people. A 1967 VW Camper, finished in your colours, playing great music at your event — people stop, people look, and people remember it.
If you’re thinking about something longer term or have a specific campaign in mind, we’d love to hear from you.
One of the most inspired uses of the Funkwagen over the last few years has been the day-after wedding celebration — and it’s a growing market for good reason.
Couples are investing in the full weekend experience, and the bus fits that perfectly. The formality of the day before gives way to something altogether more relaxed — a garden, a field, great music, and a 1967 VW Camper that makes the whole thing feel effortlessly cool. Guests who missed the wedding wish they hadn’t. Those who were there don’t want to leave.
